Bach Party in Miami

Bach Party in Miami

So, originially I didnt even want a bachelorette party-- I'm almost 31 years old, Im over the whole strip club, penis necklace stuff... BUT then I went to go visit my sis (MOH) in Miami and my Matron of Honor (my bff) suggested we should go there in aug (a few of us are teachers) for a weekend, so my sis could come and we could all spend the weekend there and party-- which would be fine with me... now, I totally dont expect a lot of girls to come-- I know they have kids, work, it;s expensive, whatever.... but now girls are asking me to do something around here as well, and you know what:??? I DONT WANT TO! I mean i feel bad if they cant come to miami, but I didnt even wanna have anything in the first place-- I think bach parties are actually a waste lol--- sorry--- but it;s true--- am I rude for not wanting to do anything here? PLUS I dont want the girls who DO actually go to miami feel obligated to pay for something ELSE for my wedding (when I dont even want it!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
sorry for the vent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get it. I live in FL and FH suggested i have my bach party in MIA, but I don't feel comfortable asking my girls to pay for flights, hotel accomodations, the actual partying, etc...

I'd rather go up to NY, and well celebrate there.

I actually said in my email to my friends 'I dont expect u to come I understand if you cant' and I really do-- I want something small and I dont wanna inconvience anyone... so I reallly will not be mad if like 5 girls come!

You're 100% right. Don't feel bad - whoever can afford Miami can go - and whoever can't, oh well. It's not like you even want a lot of people there!! You're not a party girl anymore lol so tough for them. It's YOUR bach party - no one can dictate it for you if you don't want them to. Just tell everyone that you're having a girls weekend in Miami with your MOH's.
I'm going on a cruise with my two MOH's, and my parents (lmao, it's a fam vaca that a MOH is joining us on),.but one night we'll do the whole bach thing..and that's it. I've told people I'm going on vaca with my MOH's and that's that. Don't stress it.

Thanks M!! That sounds like fun!!!!!!!!!!! I really dont see the point of a bach party-- its a reason to waste money if u ask me-- your cruise sounds fabulous!!!!!!!! (and if u wanna come to miami in Aug-- feel free! hahaha)

I think in order to let everyone relax, don't call it a bachelorette party, just tell people you and a couple of close friends are going to MIami to relax before the wedding. I don't think you're obligated to have a party for people here.

but I dont want anyoone planning anything else for me... i want this to be the 'bachelorette' party because I am being forced to have one hahahaha

How about 'I'm not having a bachelorette party, I decided to go on vacation for the weekend to visit my sister instead'

I don't think it'd be the worst thing though if people wanted to take you out for dinner and drinks before your wedding here in NY as long as it didn't get crazy, like no Lucky CHengs or anything? It doesn't have to be a steretypical 'bachelorette' party

why not go out for a a nice dinner and some drinks? Something low-key, but fancy enough to satisfy the girls up here who can't make it to FL?
