bachelor (ette) party etiquette UPDATE

this may seem like a dumb question but i am clueless...

When planning a bachelor/bachloette party do you only invite people that are getting invited to the wedding? or can you invite anyone you want without hurting their feelings if an invitation for the wedding isnt offered???

UPDATE: FH apparently was bothered by me telling him not to invite non-guests and just emailed me this article
the knot bachelorette party etiquette

I guess he will be inviting whoever he wants...ITA with you ladies though and am keeping my bachelorette party to guests only!

i would only invite people that were at my shower and my wedding, unless a friend of mine asked if they could bring a friend. and even then I still would be iffy. Every time ive been to a bp and someone who we dont know is there, that girl always makes a scene.

keep it to friends who are coming to your wedding.

I would have to agree with this. it would just be awkward to bring somebody to a bach party who wasn't going to the wedding.

i felt that way but FH is working on his bach party and wants to invite a ton of people...a lot of which are iffy for the wedding and some are definitely not getting invited. he thinks its ok to invite them and i just thought it was odd. i dont plan to invite girls to my bach party that arent invited to the wedding but i thought maybe guys just dont care as much as girls and wouldnt think anything of it lol

it would just be weird b/c it's a celebration of you or FH getting married and obv those ppl aren't invited. they'd probably feel left out or would wonder, why aren't I invited to the wedding. JMO

I am personally only inviting those who are being invited to the wedding. I don't want to have to run into an issue of inviting someone to the b-party and them expecting to be invited to the wedding when in reality it's not happening.
