My MOH is planning my Bachelorette Party. I told her explicitly, NO STRIPPERS! She recommended this show called THE AWESOME 80s PROM in NYC. Has anyone heard of it? Any other recommendations?
Thanks!

Re: Bachelorette Party
What have you heard about it? Any information would be SO helpful!
I heard its a lot of fun....Tina and Tonys Wedding is a blast too. I went with my mom, grandmother, FMIL, and FH's aunt and cousin and we had SOOO much fun. They totally interact with you the whole time, ts really like youre at this dysfunctional wedding. Its hilarious

I went to a bachelorette party and we went to mangia e bevi for dinner, which was a lot of fun. We also went to the culture club, which I definitely DO NOT recommend!

I've been to Mangia e Bevi too and I thought it was great. It really depends on your crowd - my friends aren't really into the Culture Club, Hunkamania, Awesome 80s prom thing either. For the 6 bachelorette parties we've had in the last year we've just done the bar thing - places we'd normally hang out in. We usually do a bar, a place we can dance (nothing TOO clubby) and sometimes throw in karaoke - or at least try to.
For one we rented 'La Rumba Express' aka The Chicken Bus - it's a party bus with the South American chicken bus (from Romancing the Stone) theme. I think it came to ~$1,000 for 5 hours, but we had about 16 girls chip in. We spent a lot of time partying on the bus, but also did a bar crawl trying to fit in some of our old haunts from when we were right out of college, and just bars we'd normally hang out in. We did hit Red Rocks which is kind of a Coyote Ugly bar, but that was the only 'typical' bachelorette bar.

for my bachelorette, we went to Mohegan Sun. We did some gambling and went to the spa which was really nice. I wasn't into the whole wild night out thing.

Re: Bachelorette Party
Ive been to Mangia e beve a few times for bachelorette parties, its ok but I wouldnt recommend it . Its very crowded and every table is a bachelrette party (its a little like a bachelorette factory) so you hear the same song and dance every five minutes. The last time we went there for one of my friends, we had a reservation for but we waited over an hour outside (as there was no room to wait inside). After we went to speak to the manger about the wait, he was beyond rude and basically could care less that we had been waitng over an hour past our reservation. We eventually left when we still hadnt been seated by 11and went downtown to Puglia, restaurant in Little Italy. The food is great, inexpensive and the place is very fun (conga lines outside and around the restaurant and dancing in the aisle are frequent occurences)
