bachelorette party
Just making sure - this is most commonly thrown by your girlfriends, right? They are arranging a night out, and I just want to make sure that is appropriate - that I shouldn't be taking THEM out!

Re: bachelorette party
Oh no, no, no...this is all about YOU!! You shouldn't have to arrange it, IMO. Unless there are some people you may want to attend, that your girlfriends who are planning it don't know. We already have the date picked out for mine (Nov. 9), but the rest is a surprise! Have the best time being treated to a great night out!!!!

Re: bachelorette party
They definitely take you out for the night so enjoy it! It's one of the very few things that we don't have to plan!

Re: bachelorette party
The bachelorette party is hosted by your friends. But I am doing a bridal tea for the BMs and Moms to thank them for everything they did for me during the planning. I will be hosting that.

Jenny: stop, drop & roll girlfriend! Your pals should be pampering you for the night!! It's all about you, be the queen that you know you are!! or at least deserve to be treated like one for the night.

Re: bachelorette party
HappyBride2B - you are not alone. I am actively involved in my planning. I felt bad throwing all the work at the girls. I helped set up the guest list, think of ideas etc. I told them I wanted it this way. Plus, I wanted to have a little input in what we do...I know some of my girls were throwing around going to AC. I hate AC...I get so bored. I wanted to get drunk and go dancing and be silly girls. So I am involved (but not dictating what we do) but we all are discussing ideas and I know they will have some surprises. The problem is alot of us are out of the loop so it is mostly me and one BM doing everything.Typically, most bridal parties/friends plan the event. But I do not think there is anything wrong with being involved. I have see it done both ways.

Re: bachelorette party
I am kind of involved in the sense that my girls know that I am not the strip club type. I just think it is lame and a waste of money. So we are going to the owner of my company's lakehouse next weekend to hang out, use his jetskis and then we will go out to dinner and party at night. So we will do the partying thing...but a little more subdued than some bachelorette parties!Welcome New Vendors
