Bachelorette party

Bachelorette party

I consider my FH my best friend and for my bachelorette party ... I want to get the whole wedding party together and go out and have fun. Is that silly? I don't like this thing about he going out with his friends and me going out with mine. Why can we both celebrate together! The whole thing about women/men dancing and striping is soooo unnecessary and old.

Any thoughts?

I agree but I doubt FH's friends would agree....I think they are more excited to go to a strip club then he is.....

its not silly at all! Thats what i want to do but my BM who is planning my party for me keeps on insisting that we should both be seperate but im not sure i really want that but i will prob. just give in already. My FH is NOT doing the whole strip club thing b/c he thinks its disgusting and just a total waste of money. IMO you should all go out together and celebrate!

you can absolutely go out together. I've been to to bachelor/bachelorette parties where bride and groom w/ party go out all together.

Okay, I 100% agree and i wanted to do the same thing.....but in the end....it didnt work out. FH's friends wanted to celebrate with him and my friends wouldnt hear of it either.

We ended up agreeing to do low-key bachelor parties. I went to dinner with my girls and then we went back to my MOH's house to drink. He's going to a bar with his guys. No strippers, no immature behavior, no cr@p like that. We both feel that the whole 'last night being single' cr@p is real nonsense and having strippers is completely unnecessary and disrespectful to each other. We made a deal that if a stripper showed up at our party (because of our rediculous friends) that we would simply say 'either he/she leaves, or I leave' and the stripper has to be gone within 5 minutes or the party is OVER. With that promise made, i was fine with us having seperate parties. And to be honest....I had a BLAST with just my girls. It was so much fun. And I'm glad FH will have a chance to do the same with his guys.

That is another thing that worries me. His friends are single and immature. I also believe the whole stripper thing is very disrespectful. I don't think my FH would leave if they brought him a stripper and the fact that he doesn't understand how inappropriate that is ... worries me.

You should talk to him about how much it bothers you. If he knows how hurt you'd be by him having a stripper, he'd probably talk to his guy friends about not wanting a stripper there. Our guy friends are ALL single and immature. It took a lot of convincing on FH's part, but he finally got them to understand that he just doesnt want one. The mere fact that you would be hurt or disrespected by a stripper should make him understand that it would be inappropriate. If my FH said to me that a stripper would have upset him, as much as I might have wanted one, I wouldve made sure my girls didnt get one for me.

Re: Bachelorette party

My FH and I also agree that strippers are a silly way to celebrate getting married or the last days of not being married. Male strippers kind of gross me out and FH is really over strip clubs, strippers etc. I have been to bachelorette parties where there were strippers and they were fun, but not my thing. I think I have read on here that some couple go there separate ways and then meet up later on. Maybe you can do this?
