Bachelorette Party Blues...
Ok... so, I'm involved (somewhat) in my bachelorette party plans... I have an absolutely fantastic friend that is also my BM that wants to make the party awesome - one night in Manhattan around the city on a limobus with drinks, goodies, etc.- but my other bridesmaids (including my MOHs) are telling me that they are not going to come because they don't have the money - that she's being too lavish for a bachelorette party - mind you it'll cost each person 120 for the night (not inc. drinking in the bars/clubs)...
The worst part - each one tells me about the wonderful vaca's they've been taking over the last year... a week in Daytona, a week in South Beach, a week-long cruise, etc. etc. etc.
I've been engaged for a year now, am I wrong to think that they have been selfish not to put money aside for things like this...??? Isn't that part of taking on the role of BM or MOH?
I asked my BMs to hold the bridal shower at my mom's house (not at a restaurant or a hall - to save money)... I am paying for half of their make-up to get done, for the additional costs for maternity dresses and extra lengths, for the shawls they'll be wearing at my wedding, and for some I've fronted half of the cost of their dresses... not to mention the money that was dished out by me for their weddings...
Am I wrong for being upset that my 'friends' aren't stepping up to the plate for the one night that I get to celebrate my 'single life'? Or am I just complaining too much?
Sorry I had to vent - and to find out what the H@LL to do with them...
