Bachelorette party dinner, bar and club

Ok, I need some suggestions. I posted that my bachelorette party is booked, but we haven't decided on any of the details. We get pick a place for dinner, a bar and then a club. For dinner i wanted something fun so i was leaning towards Lucky Chengs, then a friend of mine mentioned Johnny Utahs...where they have a mechanical bull...Anyone heard of this or any other fun dinner places? Then for a bar i was thinking an in between place like a metro 53 or somethign along those lines. Any suggestions there? Then club...we are open to get into any club we want Marquis, lotus, pink elephant andything...so any suggestions? We want fun music not club music...something with words! Any help is much appreciated.

i wrote in your other thread about this. Well all of the clubs listed are BIG clubs, and those are some of the hottest clubs right now. They will ALL have club music. SOme other music will be played too such as hip-hop and there will be words but that will be vocal house. What do you mean by fun music?

S.O.B's (sounds of Brazil) was a really fun place! I went a few years ago and they have a latin band playing and everyone dances in front of the stage. I remember every once in a while someone would start doing a couple of moves and before you knew it the whole place was doing the same moves, it was like a movie! I thought it was a lot of fun!

Hmm fun music...i guess that doesn't say much..lol umm fun music to me is the hip hop, and old school music. Like 'push it' salt and peppa, old michael jackson I don't know stuff like that. Although now that i think...do any 'clubs' have that music or is it just bars?

uhmmm that will be mostly bars but most clubs have a hip-hop room. FOr example in the vip sections at most clubs, its usually mostly hip-hop. Marquee the vip room is upstairs and i remember 90% of the music being hip-hop and yeah even alot of old-school hip-hop. Clubs do play MJ here and there but it will be the club versions of his songs. THese clubs will have a mix of music, popular songs, hip-hop, house. Definitely not boardy barn type music if thats what you mean by fun

Re: Bachelorette party dinner, bar and club

Right boardy barn! Love that music. Ok good. Well we'll be in the VIP area of which ever club we go to so that's good news about the music. I guess by the end of the night with open bar at dinner and a bar before I'll dance to anything! hahaha

Marquee is pretty good, they had good music in the vip section. Pink Elephant can be a bit snobbish i guess you can say, lots of celebrities go there alot, and people who think their sh*t dont stink, people go all out with the way they dress bc well pink elephant has one of those strict door policies that doesnt care who got there first but picks ppl to get in based on how they look so bc of that ppl do go all out.

but yeah no boardy barn type music. Although sometimes youll hear the club versions of those songs

and are you going to have a table at the vip section? or just be allowed upstairs into the vip section? Bc i know that marquee it is a 4 bottle minimum to get a table and 1 bottle is $300 so its $1200 to even get seated at Marquee? curious if the thing you booked with gives you a table

Re: Bachelorette party dinner, bar and club

No we are not getting a table. They said that b/c they have a relationship with the club that if a table is open we can have it but otherwise no. You can get packages through them that give you a table but we went against it. Hmm Pink elephant might be bad then. My mom is coming! I don't think they'd pick her off the line! lol j/k We don't have to wait in line but still...i sometimes hate those places where everyone thinks they are too good to be there!

well ill tell you that marquee and lotus are about the same as pink elephant when it comes to that type of crowd. Infact the crowds at all 3 places are like that, and the door policies are the same at all, just maybe pink elephant a little more strict but not by much. Most city clubs require 2 bottle minimum to get a table, so it shows what type of club marquee is to require 4 bottle minimum and make ppl pay $1200 to get a table. Marquee is just as big as pink elephant, same thing with alot of celebrities, many have their album release parties there which christina aguilera did, i know paris hilton had her birthday there and so on

Re: Bachelorette party dinner, bar and club

Hey!

Just looked up that place Johnny Utah's ... never heard of it- but looks fun from the website- could be some good pics of you on the bull- lol... I would just call to make sure they do it on Saturdays b/c the website says Mon. for bull riding challenge. Mangi E Bevi is also supposed to be fun/good for bachelorette too....

As for a bar- Metro 53 & that area is a good choice to 'start the night'. Fun music & there's a bunch of bars so if ones dead you can walk to the next across the street...

For a club- which you would probably go to around 11 or 12ish.... Marquee is really fun. The music is great. Usually with a 'hot' club the DJ's are really good and do an awesome mix. I would make sure to confirm with the company you're using (when you pick the club) b/c any of these 'hot' clubs are VERY hard to get into (especially on a Sat. night). Even if they say they have a 'relationship' I don't know if I would buy that... Just in case- I would maybe pick 2 clubs- kind of in the same area- in case you have a problem.... Tenjune is also supposed to be fun with good music.

Sounds like a blast & sorry I'm going to miss it

Lauren had her b day part there on a saturday at Johnny Utahs she also mentioned that 2nd one you mentioned. I looked on line but it looked a little silly to me..have you been?....Maybe the bull challenge is just a contest or something they do mondays? I agree I was thinking Metro 53 area for the in between. I like it over there and it's a good mix of bar but a little nicer. As for the clubs they specifically told me and mentioned those clubs...so I trust them a bit since it is what they do. I don't think they could run much of a business if the clubs they pushes you towards they couldn't get you in...but you are right it can't hurt to pick a 2nd one.
I'm sorry you are going to miss it too!

I agree 100%, first i would pick more than one place. Ive heard of ALOT of these companies that 'guarantee'things and then when you get there its a different story or they make you wait ALOT. When ppl are paying $1200 to get into marquee, then they dont care too much to honor other things. Let me tell you that for fh's best friend we went to marquee for his birthday and got a table, and even then its not like they rushed us right in, we got annoyed that they were like 'oh hold on we'll be with you soon' we didnt really wait that long but just showing how even though we(well not me bc i wouldn't lol) paid $1200 for a table it wasnt like OMG yes come right in.

i also agree with mangia e bevi

and i also agree with the whole metro 53 and 2nd ave bars. Maybe start off the night there, but theres not lots of dancing at these bars. SOmetimes metro53 there will dancing then other nights not as much, same with sutton place. Ive gone when the 2nd floor dance floor is packed then many other nights when nobody is dancing.

And dont get me wrong about the clubs, im letting you know how they are but I LOVED marquee. The vip room had great music, i dont care about ppl around me

ETA: not that the company wont get you into the club but sometimes they still make you wait, not like you just walk right in. Usually the person at the door will ask if youre on the list, if you say where youre from, he'll go have to ask somebody and make you wait' I would tell the company to give you the name of somebody at the door and make sure theyre outside when you go

So this mangia e bevi place is good huh? That's what my friend said and the website didn't make it look so great. What makes it a fun spot...different from a lucky chengs dinner?

Ok will keep that all in mind for the clubs. I am not a club person and dont' go often so it's good to know. Makes me kind of nervous! lol

Mangia e bevi is supposed to be fun for bachelorette- people wear the 'gear' , dance on tables, etc... Food is not the best- but it's more for the atmosphere (which is how it's similar to Lucky Cheung's - minus the drag queens).

I know how you are with the clubs- so I would go maybe more for the bars- I think more of the 'scene' you're looking far and will be easier to keep the party going!

mangia e bevi is a very popular bachelorette spot. Its good food for one and inexpensive. The atmosphere is supposed to be good, the waiters going around with tambourines and girls dancing on the chairs and all that, its a party atmosphere. If you do a search on here you'll find alot of reviews from girls who went.

You shouldn't be nervous, just go and have fun and not care about the people around you. I go out and just dance all night and dont pay attention to all the idiots around me haha. I like marquee alot and had a great time, i always suggest marquee

If you really think clubs arent your scene, then maybe stick to bar hopping
