Bachelorette Party: Do I go??

Bachelorette Party: Do I go??

I need some advice on this...

A really good friend of mine if having her bachelorette party in Miami in 3 weeks. Money has been really tight over the summer so I could not commit to the party when asked. I'm still debating but it's going to cost me $535 for 2 nights in Miami (excluding anything else that I would have to provide for her.) I'm not sure what to do. Do I suck it up and go or do I stay home. I think I'll stay home but I don't know how to tell her in a polite way that I won't be going...I know this sounds super confusing but ANY advice will be helpful...

That's a lot of money before incidentals and food and drinks and stuf fr 2 nights. I'd tell her you're reallt sory and maybe arange for something to be delivered to the hotel for her, like champagne and strawberries or an awesome cookie basket or something so she knows you're thinking of her. Do something special to make up for not being able to go (an ease your conscience, too!)

she obviously understands that you are getting married in a few months - just tell her money is tight and you wish you could make it, but it's just too much.

i'm probably having 2 bachelorette parties - one for my friends and one sister that can't afford to go away (more local stuff) and then my 'real' one which is away and my other sister (MOH) and other friends that can/willing to afford it will attend.

i totally understand that not everyone can jet off to vegas/miami/bahamas/wherever for my party.

she should too....

Hi date twin!

I would probably go if it was a very close friend. But I tend to spend money without thinking! So I'm probably the last person to ask!

I wouldnt go if its going to cause money stress.

Be honest w her and maybe take her out for a mani/pedi or dinner or something.

I agree with this. I feel the same way as far as spending money and bailing out on things. I know some people feel like I'm shunning them because they want to do things. But we are planning a wedding and right now that comes first. I'd recognize it and do something for her, but stay home and save money.

I have to agree. 500+ doesn't sound so bad until you start adding all the extras (food, drinks, admission to the places)
