I was hoping you all could help. My friend is getting married in June and for her bachelorette party she would like to go away to an island or somewhere warm w/ a beach (this would be around May 2004).
Here's the problem a lot of the people that would be invited are either newly engaged or like me newly married saving for a house. Honestly, I also feel a little uncomfortable asking people to spend so much money on a weekend.
Sorry for the long sorry --- anyway I am trying to put a trip together that is fairly inexpensive if I can...around $500 per person or less.
Any ideas???? open to all ideas even if it is not away on an island.
Any travel agencies that give good group rates for about 10-15 girls?

Re: Bachelorette Party Ideas
Is the bride set on doing a Caribbean getaway? What about FL or Vegas?
I wanted to go to Vegas, but realizing that the girls would be spending an exhorbant amount of money I decided to keep it more local and to allow more people to go. So I chose Atlantic City. We are only going for one night but I am okay with that. I prefer to have more people there than to have 4 people with me because of money reasons. Have you talked to the bride about the $$ issue some of the girls may have? I would also ask the girls how much they feel they are comfortable spending so that all can take part in the bp.

Re: Bachelorette Party Ideas
A few of us went to Puerto Rico for my pre-bachelorette party- we only invited people who we knew would want to spend the money, then we had another in NYC. But Puerto Rico was not too expensive- you can get airfare for under $300 and I think we paid like $250 each and stayed at the Intercontinental for 3 nights - it was GREAT! We had a great time.

Re: Bachelorette Party Ideas
Try Florida. If you book well in advance with JetBlue you can get airfare for around $70 pp one way. The rest of the money can then be spent on accomodations, food, and entertainment. Florida is definitely doable for $500 but I don't think the carribean really is. Me and my girlfriends just did South Beach in June for 5 days for around $800 each. And that included a rental car for a week!

Re: Bachelorette Party Ideas
Check your dates in May with a travel agent, because I think that prices vary just like everything else. And if you're going to book, do it early, cause once school lets out the prices get higher (for Dominican Republic anyways). Good luck.

Florida is in that range. I have gone to South Beach for three b-parties and managed to get cheap airfare on JetBlue and great hotel rates on line!

Puerto Rico in May is not that expensive and espically if you have alot of girls. I would check Jet Blue, there rates are very good right now.
