Bachelorette Party Last night- Vendor Semi-Rant- LONG
My bachelorette party was last night. I went shopping during the day and walked into a clothing rack at Forever 21 and broke my toe- it is now swolen and purple a week before the wedding. I'm too vain to go out in flip flops when I'm wearing a dress so I shoved my broken toe into my peep toe pumps for the night---I probably looked like a fool gimping aorund anyway.....I think the broken toe was an omen....read on....
SO, We started off at my mom's house for finger foods and drinks and my girls gave me some gifts...My sister made me Bachelorette bucket filled with gag gifts- a sash, a penis tiara, a penis wand, a 'last fling before the ring' button...lol. I wore all of it all night.
The bucket said 'Bachelorette' on it and it had cartoon penises and margarita and martini glasses scattered on it (it was hand drawn by my sister's boss)
My friend bought me a tshirt that said 'I'm tying the knot so buy me a shot' But I forgot to put it on half way thru the night like I planned to.![]()
The limo was supposed to pick us up at 8:30pm and when it got there everyone ran outside and I stayed behind to use the bathroom. I said goodbye to my dad and ran outside to see the limo pulling away, speeding off down the block- all the girls were still standing in the middle of the street.
When the driver asked for payment and the girls gave him the $$$, he said that it wasn't enough. when my friend made the reservation with Regal Limousines (regalbridal.com) she worked out a deal with the owner Joe where we would pay by the hour and tip and tolls were included in the hourly price. The driver was saying that they needed to pay for these things On top of the hourly rate.
My sister told him that he needs to call the boss and figure out why we were told something different. He said the office is closed, so my sister said 'well, we need to figure out why we have different totals.'
The driver said 'I don't need to be talked to like that' (LIKE WHAT??!?!?!) and jumped in the car and sped off with our cooler in the back.
So, my friend went through her phone and found the number the owner Joe had called from the other day and it turned out it was his cell phone. He told us that the driver had a bad week and he would make sure he would come right back for us and he would call us back
we no longer wanted the unstable and VERY rude driver to being us anywhere, it was now almost 9 and we had 10:30 reservations at Lucky Chengs...but we waited a few minutes..
Sure enough the driver pulled up in front of the house again a few minutes later and said 'heres your cooler. I'm not your driver anymore.' We asked him to stay for a few minutes to that we could contact Joe and confirm someone else was coming and he said 'Thats not my job' and sped off again![]()

When we spoke to Joe he said he didn't have another driver available at that point, so my father tried to call someone he knows in the lim obusiness- no answer.
In the end we rushed to catch the express train from Babylon and made it to Lucky Chengs on time.
While we were on the train my father called Joe at Regal and Joe agreed to send a car to pick us up. It turned out that he couldn't find a driver so Joe himself came. He came early in case we wanted to go anywhere else, and gladly dropped 2 girls at the Babylon train station for their cars and dropped my friend off at her house since she didn't have a car at my moms. So, I have to give Joe the credit for trying to make things right, but we still paid full price for the ride home. Still, he was really great and very nice.
Lucky Chengs was certainly interesting- the place is kinda grungy, but it was funny and we had a good time. I did see 2 girls fall down the steps going down in to the basement for the bathroom and there was a girl passed out on the bench outside the ladies room.
The food is overpriced and not good at all. The menu is 90% seafood- and I don't eat seafood....but I did manage to get a few nibbles. The girls bought me a penis cake and the nurse lady/man picked up all my friends and I had to hit t hem on the bottom with a paddle- it was a laugh..
We had a better time at the Bar right around the corner.
We had rating stickers to put on guys (like 'nicest eyes' and 'best biceps' 'most nerdy' 'best/worst dancer' etc) I think evry guy in that bar was wearing a sticker when we finally left.
Overall we had a great time...but the limo trouble was just another thing on the long list of dissappointment from vendors I've gotten lately.
