bachelorette party opinion (kind of long)

bachelorette party opinion (kind of long)

i dont have a bridal party, just a MOH and she will not be going, she said she would take me out separately. which is totally fine with me. she is older and i know she cant do what i would like to do b/c she has 3 kids.

so since i do not have a bridal party, i threw the idea out to my friends that i would like to go up to montreal. i really like it there and i am into their club and afterhours scene (trance music). no not strip clubs....

i have about 4 close friends so i said i would like to go away before i get married. well one friend says she wants to go to vegas and we can combine it with her birthday weekend. i dont like to gamble and the idea of vegas doesnt appeal to me. i also think it is too much money. i dont expect them to pay for me, i would rather we all chip in.

well i have another friend that complained to me that it is too long of a car trip, we cant fit in your car etc. one of the girls is from boston, so i figure we can crash there for one nite on the way up. still i have a somewhat small car (VW), but it can fit 5 people, which is the total going. then she is like when are you going to plan this (i will plan it when i am ready, i have 5 months and all i would have to get is hotel rooms; the club nites dont need planning), what else are we going to do and i hate trance music. after listening to her complaints, i said if you dont like it you dont have to go.

i also know that she will b*tch the entire time if she doesnt get her way. i have been friends with her for 20 years and i know how she can get. but if i dont invite her then, it is like leaving her out of the group etc.

i dont think i am asking too much, i mean isnt it the brides choice to do what she wants? i am at the point where i dont think i will even have one now.

sorry so long [/bridezilla moment]

ETA: this is why i didnt have a bridal party, b/c of this girl...

wow, your friends don't seem to see how important this is...i think you have every right to be upset. does your friend going to vegas only go to gamble? if she doesn't, maybe you can get some spa treatments or lay by the pool while she's in the casino, and spend the rest of the time going out to eat, going to clubs, and bars? and why does the other girl have to 'get her way' is she the bride? no, you are. and even though she's not a bridesmaid, she's been your friend forever, and since your MOH can't do what you were interested in doing, your friend should try to get something together! i'm sorry if i sound harsh, but if my friends ever acted like that, i'd probably have a few things to say to them!

Usually, the bachelorette party is planned by the bridal party -- being that you really don't have one, these girls may not feel as obligated to do things the way you want.

If you really want to have a last weekend away with the girls, I think the best you can do at this point is make a decision about when you want to go and how you want to go about getting there. Whoever is up for it will go.

the girl that wants to go to vegas wants to combine it with her birthday weekend, and i have been to casinos with her. you can barely tear her away from the table she is that bad of a gambler. very addicting personality. i also dont want to do a combo birthday/bacherlorette party.

the other girl that has to 'get her way' just doesnt like the whole idea.
