1. have a local bachelorette party (city, Hamptons, Montauk, etc.) where any of your friends could come.... 2. or have a destination bachelorette party (Miami) where all friends would be invited, but probably only your bridesmaids would go...
which would you choose?

#2! I have 7-8 BMs so all my close friends will be there already. This is what I want to do actually, a destination Bachelorette in Miami or an all-inclusive in Mexico.

Re: Bachelorette party -- to travel or not?
I personally would pick number 1 b/c I do not fly lol
But in all seriousness, do whatever you want! Don't feel pressured into 1 just b/c more people can come. Don't feel pressured into 2 just b/c of the allure of a destination party.
Do what you want! It's your party

Re: Bachelorette party -- to travel or not?
I would prefer the destination one...but I know it's alot to ask of bridesmaids...so I am likely just doing something local. I dont want anyone to feel forced to spend the money leave their kids etc for my bachelorette party. But I would soooo love to go to New Orleans!

I would choose #1. I'd rather have many of my friends there then only 1 or 2 BM's.

I'm going with #1. Of Course I'd love to go somewhere tropical but I personally (and this is just my opinion) think that's too much to ask of my bridesmaids. These are really hard financial times for a lot of people (and even if it wasn't) and I think they're doing more than enough by being in my wedding.
That said, do whatever works in your situation. If your girls can afford it and are into it, then go for it! I think it would be an awesome trip to take and one you'll never forget.

Re: Bachelorette party -- to travel or not?
i think you should do whatever makes you happy.
personally, i would feel a little bad putting that financial burden on my friends (unless they didn't mind of course). i would rather have a ton of my friends and family come so i would choose #1.

Re: Bachelorette party -- to travel or not?
I think I'm going for both, haha! Doing the destination with whoever can make it, and then probably doing a low-cost city-night for dinner and drinks so those that couldn't make it feel included!

I'm probably doing number one. I feel bad asking anyone to pay a lot of money. We can have just as much fun with the number one option. JMO

I would do what YOU want to do and makes you happy. If only your BM's come then party with just them. I've heard through the grapevine mine will be in vegas and I know many people other than the BP will be able to make that and I am totally cool with that

Re: Bachelorette party -- to travel or not?
I agree do what you want...but honestly you can't get mad if some of your friends/family can't afford to go on a mini-vacation. Everyone's finances are personal.
I had a friend do this and I had NO money and NO vacation days left at work and she pretty much ripped me a new one for not attending. I love her...but I am not going broke or losing my job for a bachelorette party...
