Bachelorette question

Bachelorette question

So my good friend is getting gmarried 2 weeks before me in NY, and her bachelorette is this Saturday

It turns out that I will be in town for my second fitting on Saturday, a meeting with my DOC, and lots of DIY ribbons wands. Taking a Friday night bus up. Buuuuut my mother decided to do Mothers day dinner a week late since I will be up there. I also have like no money

And I am meeting the realtor at the new apartment at 9 Sunday morning with my parents to get the keys and move all my shower stuff, etc into the new place, the. Catching a bus back to DC at like 1

Is it terrible for me to say I can't go even though I will be in the area? I feel terrible, but I can't not do what I need to get done to go into the City

Are you in the BP?
I'd be upset, but if you're not in the BP, it may be OK. You won't get a lot of sleep, but maybe try to meet up with the girls later in the night, after dinner with your mom. You can always sleep on the bus??

Yup, it's pretty bad, IMO.

My friends always get pissed when they find out I'm in NY doing wedding stuff and they don't get a chance to see me.

Honestly, it makes me feel kinda crappy not seeing them, esp. since I live in FL and we don't see each other that often anyway.

Not in the Wedding party.

Mom decided to do mother's day dinner on saturday

The dinner is super early

I have no money

I don't do strippers

I would skip dinner with my mom, take a 70 minute train each way, leave my mother and father to pack my stuff up for me from her house for my move the next morning that they are driving me to

I'd never be pissed if a friend couldn't make my stuff. Ever

why not just meet them for a little while so you don't totally miss it?

Yeah if it was just this it would be fine!

I need to pack my stuff from my parents house on saturday too, and move into the city on sunday morning

I would like to, but they are doing dinner in the city at 5:30, I am doing dinner with mom at 7 Pm, a 1 hour and 10 minute train ride from Penn. I still have to get back to her house and pack

I just don't see how I can do it all without pissing off my family and maintaining my sanity?

I would totally understand if you couldn't make it. You have a lot on your plate and as a bride she should understand.

Re: Bachelorette question

who has bachelorette party dinner at 5:30???? my friend did the same thing, we literally were twiddling our thumbs between 7-11pm waiting for an acceptable time to go to a club!!

it seems like you're answering your own question, you just can't make it work. i'm in a similar situation, FH's cousin is getting married 3 weeks after me. i am in the BP, but it's sort of an unspoken understanding that we won't be attending eachother's bachelorette parties. it's too chaotic. hopefully she'll understand.
