I don't really feel like doing the NYC thing. I think when you add up the limos, dinners, etc. it gets just as pricey as going overnight some place.
I actually want to pay for myself if it means my friends can go!

How do you get people to actualy GO AWAY for a bach party? One of my bridesmaids was like saying how they don't have money for that and no offense, if they're taking a trip, it's not with us girls.
I was hoping to get the girls to rent a house w/me in Cape May and just kick back, relax, cook, go out to dinner, sight see. I doubt this will happen.
\ yep! i want to know the same thing! im having the same problem! that its like they want to do something on the island..which im really not a fan of

Re: bachlorette parties
Most of my friends are either already married or in relationships, and even those who are single are beyond the age of getting drunk. So I would love to have a weekend getaway to AC or one of casinos in CT...have a spa day, enjoy a great dinner and then go dancing all in one place. But that might be difficult (and expensive) for most of my friends, so then I was thinking maybe a day spa event at a spa in NYC or long island followed by dinner, and maybe some dancing.

Re: bachlorette parties
i think i'm having two - one away and one more local. the away one might be in puerto rico or fl or anyplace warm (so I'm tan for the weddling lol) OR a ski trip earlier in the year. the more local one might be in A.C. at the borgata. So far that's what we've been talking about. whoever doesn't want to go away can come to AC

Re: bachlorette parties
I have no idea, my sis won't tell me a thing. All I care about are copious amounts of alcohol and dancing my tail off. Strippers...eh...i'm ambivalent. They could get one for sh*ts and giggles but I really don't want one.

Re: bachlorette parties
I'm staying in NYC...maybe set up a bar crawl after dinner??? I would love to go away, but I personally think asking others to go away is presumtuous. People have a lot going on in their lives and I think it's a lot to ask them to pay to go away....so I will do the right thing and stay local. I mean we live near one of the best cities in the country...why not take advantage???

Re: bachlorette parties
i'm not sure.. i believe they are shooting towards getting a room at the 40/40...
my only request were that i get a sash and tiara nad everyone else wears t-shirts that say buy her a shot she's tying the knot.. or some equally corny saying..
and that they serve nachos and hot wings..
pretty much all of my ideas got shot down.. loll especially the matching t-shirt part..they weren't trying to hear that..
