i hate the cheesiness of chippendales type things
my 2 bm's are 18 and 22.... dont know what to suggest for my bp....need to start throwing around hints so that i dont get stuck with a Bach party i hate

I second the spa day idea!!
Or maybe a trip into the city with the girls... going to museums or shopping or something... Serendipity's is always a super fun restuarant to go to!!

Re: bachlorette party ideas
i didn't want to go to a bar or a male strip club for my bach party either so we're going out to dinner in the city, then we're seeing a play (avenue q).

There is this cooking school in Garden City where you can make a whole night out of it. I went to one that had a Mexican theme and you make margaritas and prepare and eat a 5-7 course meal. It was SOOOOO MUCHHHH fun!!!!! FM if you need info!

We are going to a day spa. The place is actually going to shut down just for my party.. so it feels more personal. We will have lunch ordered and eat there as well. I am so excited to do this!!

Re: bachlorette party ideas
My girls hired a prfoessional event planner who planned a day for us in NYC. All they told me was the date, time and to wear pink and black. One of my BM's is a Breast Cancer survivor so another BM made a donation to a Breast Cancer charity in my name and we all sported our pink ribbons with our pink and black. We went on a Sunday morning, the theme was Bachelorette in the City, since I was a huge Sex in the City fan. We met up in a souvenir shop near Penn Station where we all received Bachelorette in the City survival kits which had a pair of sunglasses, a hair brush, blushing bride blush, a $5 gift card to Starbucks, gum and other cute stuff. We all received a 'Citinerary' for the day. We went onto Brunch then to Sephora for makeovers, Starbucks, then for manicures/pedicures and to dinner. We did shopping and took silly pictures in Bryant Park along the way. It was SO much fun and totally my speed. I enjoyed every minute of it. If you want the event planner's info FM me. Here are some pics of the itenerary and the photo album the made for me of the day.
The city is always choc full of things to do. For a fun low key idea how about dinner at a restaurant (there are so many to choose from My personal favorite is Rosa Mexicana) Tickets to a b'way show like Mamma Mia, this show is a lot of fun... and then go to Culture Club for a little dancing. The variety of music is great or go to Serendipity for desert :)

I was going to suggest Mamma Mia too! Or something else in the city. I went to this restaurant Mange e Bevi for my friend's bachelorette party and it was so much fun.

My bridal party took me to a restuarant called Mangia Beve in Manhatten. It is a great Italian restaurant. The food is terrific and they play loud music and give you tamborines to dance with. They make you stand on the chairs. It was so much fun. Just my speed.
You have to make a reservation ahead of time though since this place is so busy with batchlorette parties. Trust me it is a lot of fun.
