I'm back from the DR.. and wow is it HOT in Punta Cana.. I will never go to a tropical island again in July lol.. Had a great time at the wedding though, it was beautiful.. And the beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen in my life and the ocean was just incredible.. but we had a very bad experience at the Paradisus Punta Cana.. We waited over an hour in line to check in, with only 1 couple in front of us.. the resort was dirty, we had bugs in the room, no hot water in the shower (unless we turned on the sink and flushed the toilet ![]()
), the hair dryer almost blew up, and the maid didn't come for 2 days until we called her and she came at 7pm... Only 2 restaurants have AC, and they were the fancy nighttime ones that were only open on certain days, so everyone was sweating the entire trip basically... The food was also really really bad, everyone got sick at some point during the trip.. I am still not feeling so great and neither is FH.. but overall I still had a nice vacation because it was with so many friends we knew and Punta Cana is really beautiful... I would totally go back in a second but stay at a different resort and go sometime in Nov-March...
Another good thing came out of this trip though.. We finally decided on our honeymoon, cause we have literally bounced around the idea of being away for 7 days or 14 days.. goin to Tahiti, St Lucia, cruise to Europe, Bahamas or Aruba.. every idea in the world.. So we finally decided that we only want to go away for a week.. and we're going to Sandals Royal Bahamian, in a room with butler service, close to the beach and the pool.. I think it'll be perfect for us and we can just relaxxx the entire trip... Hoping that the oil won't be an issue, but even if it is I'm sure they'll take precautions against it and have a good cleanup effort.. We are going to book it sometime this month, so soon I'll have another check![]()
