Back at One!

Ok,
I fell in love with another song for first dance.
Back at One by Brian Mcknight.

We had originally liked By Your side by Sade then we booked Duet for video we heard... kiss of life also by Sade and now we hear that sng :(

Some of the lyrics.....

One ...you're like a dream come true
two....just wanna be with you
three... girl its plain to see that you're the only one for me and
four....repeat steps one thru three
five...make you fall in love with me...
if ever I believe my work is done....then I start it back at one.

I am so lost now.

I am confused, what does going to Duet have to do with picking a song for your wedding...

Duet brides probably know what I mean...they do a presentation and you hear the music playing in the background and it invokes certain feelings. So I blame DUET

she means when you watch the video and hear the song... they do that everywhere usually.. When I went to silverfox I fell in love with the edwin mccain song! lol

Re: Back at One!

yea but the point of the songs is to put it in your video afterward, why should that stop her from picking that song, just because she saw it on someone's video at Duet.......lol, then there would be no songs loft for anyone to use...

NOOOOOOOO. Not saying I dont want to use the song because I heard it.
I mean that the way the song is presented invoked certain feelings.....and I was already settled on song.
Everywhere I go I hear songs that are so perfect for us

That's a nice song!

I'm sort of on the other end of spectrum..We have a few songs that we consider 'our song' so we want to choose between them! We'd never just hear a song and pick it as our wedding song...

Think of whatever song is PERSONALLY meaningful to you. Trust me..ANY song can make you cry when you watch it on video... There has to be one special song that you always get u to dance to, or that you've put on mixed tapes/CD's for each other...

We have a few, but the ones we'd consider for our wedding song are

1) 'Experiencia Religiosa' -Enrique Iglesias -It's probably the most personally meaningful...we're going to dance to it, but not the first dance, we decided because it's in spansih and no one will understand it, and those that do, will know it's mostly about sex..

2) Glory of Love- Peter Cetera - This is probably the 2nd most meaningful, but he chorus is one sided

3) you're the inspiration - peter cetera...

Anyway, there HAS to be a song...

We've been togethr almost 6 years and have amassed quite a collection of songs that are meaningful so it is hard.

So far over the years, there have been a few songs that we have heard that seems just like us.....so I disagree that you cannot hear a song just in passing and not feel like it relates to you.

We've shared special moments and certain songs were playing and invoked no reaction on my part. so I guess it goes both way

yeah, I've been with FH for 5 years and we have SO many songs. I thought you couldn't really come up with one. I know you can relate to them on the radio, but I'm gonna choose one from the ones we already have. It's hard...I keep adding to the 'they have to play this and we have to dance to it list'...maybe if you write down all the songs and listen to them together and see what kind of emotional response you get. Or, each of you write down 3 songs you'd dedicate to the other, and if any of them match, that's the one!

Re: Back at One!

Me too. My list is getting kinda long.
I think there is a thread somewhere to help us out.
