Back from HM

We spent a week at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana. The resort was very nice and it was great to be away from the cold weather for a while. The weather didn't cooperate much while we were there, we had a few straight days of rain and red flagged beach, so that was a bummer. On the days it didn't rain it was like a postcard!

And then the rains came We still tried to stick it out on the beach as much as possible. They must have thought we were idiots



I can't say we'd ever make a return trip, at least not for a while. We had a lot of issues at the airport trying to return home. Our carrier US Airways changed our flights to AA to get us home in time for Thanksgiving since our original flights with them had been cancelled - all this was done at home before we left. The AA counter in Punta Cana seemed to not get this concept and they refused to issue our tickets for the itinerary as it was set up. THEN they wanted $400 each to give us our tickets. This went round and round for about an hour and a half. It wasn't until the US Airways desk opened and one of their reps got involved that AA would issued our return tickets. They still insisted on changing our flights which they did and we seriously only made our last connection running down the terminal as we were being paged. Our luggage wasn't as lucky.
