Back from my honeymoon, some wedding advice

I''ve been posting and reading this board for over a year and wanted to shed some light to other brides-to-be... First thing, remember what the day is all about and keep thinking of how wonderful the entire day/night is feeling at every moment because it will go by so very fast. After our first dance, I was already thinking it went by way too fast. Don''t sweat the small stuff, go with whatever is handed to you that day. I lucked out with gorgeous weather, but other things weren''t quite right- except the fact that I was marrying my beloved!!! If you didn''t decide on getting a video done of your wedding, do it now!! We weren''t going to and changed our minds 5 weeks before hand and I''m so glad we did. Pictures will tell stories but the video will let you see where you couldn''t be that day. Don''t let anyone tell you that you won''t eat or drink at your own wedding, we did. Remember it''s YOUR day to enjoy after all the planning. If possible get at least one roll of film from your wedding developed to bring along on your honeymoon, we looked at our 24 pictures over and over and even hung one in our hotel room. The best advice I could give any bride-to-be is that everything will be beautiful and you will have the absolute best day if your life. When a couple is happy on the inside, it shows on the outside and makes the entire day sparkle. Live your honeymoon like it''s your last trip, do everything and anything- you deserve it. Wow! You made me cry!

My big day is in less than 3 months and the stress is at its peak right now. Thank you for all of your wonderful advice. We aren't having a professional video, but will have friends there with videocams. It's easy to get so caught up in the planning that you forget what it's all about. Treasure each other before, during and after the day. Thanks again for the tears and for sharing your day. Where was your reception and who did you use for the video, etc.?

Our reception was at Danford's in Port Jefferson. We used William James Photography, Classic Entertainment for our DJ, Christopher Devin Celebrations for flowers. Three months away was about the time I started to panic. One month before was sheer madness. We kept trying to keep everything fun and enjoy the planning, we succeeded most of the time. :) Enjoy your day and remember that it will go by even faster than everyone tells you.
