back from St. Lucia! updated, with a few pix

finally got back to my apt.... looks like i have a bunch of catching up to do tomorrow

congrats to all of the brides who got married while i was away!

it was like east-coast-land over at Sandals! Everyone seemed to have come over on our JFK flight and almost everyone was from NY, NJ, a few from PA and then a handful from elsewhere.

We hung out with 2 couples from NY and one from Jersey for much of the week.

It rained... a lot... but it would only last a few minutes so we'd just stick it out in the pool. We also went to the Regency to eat at La Toc (french) and Kimonos (hibachi) and enjoyed that too.

I was a little worried about the shuttle ride from the airport but it was great! Our driver wasnt crazy, drove nice and normal speed, pointed out some landmarks and interesting things that we passed and it was a great way to see the island. On the way back our driver went slightly faster and passed 2 or 3 cars but it still wasn't bad at all.

We had a concierge level room which I highly recommend because of the unlimited room service, in room bar, and the concierges were surprisingly helpful --- a lot of extras or strings pulled that i'm sure wouldnt have happened had we gone through the front desk and not the concierge.

Of course the day we leave it was like a monsoon, all day long....

It was a monsoon during our candlelit dinner on the beach, but we just laughed it off and stuck it out since we were under one of those umbrella hut things and ended up being the only couple to finish --- even with the wind blowing everything over, and sitting in total darkness for a while. we saw that our wine and champagne bucket was pretty close by so DH ran and got it in the rain and we drank and laughed in the dark.. we had a lot of fun but it wasn't romantic at all, so I talked to the concierge and they gave us a second one free! (i've been trying to use my negotiating skills when possible)

I didnt know it rained that much there.

OMG I cant believe you stuck it out! LOL. Thats great they gave you another one.
