I did it... I completed the full marathon on Saturday (26.2 miles) and was able to walk a total of 7.3 miles this morning! Due to a knee injury and a swollen ankle - all on the same leg - I was unable to contiue the rest of the 13 miles today. I was a little dissapointed but knew I definitely couldn't push it any further and risk a worse injury. I am very proud of FSIL who went on to complete the full 13 today. I promised her that next year and I am going to be completing the full weekend with her - and FMIL might be joining us as well!
I'll have some pics for you girls soon! I just could not believe I was able to do an entire marathon. As hard as it was, I pushed myself to do something I never thought I would be able to do and it was for such an amazing cause. It was a very exciting, emotional, and fun weekend and I can't wait for next year!

CONGRATULATIONS! I walked Jones Beach this morning. It was a great day for the walk. Much better than last year when we walked in the pouring rain!

I think we might do this every year now - it was so amazing. I hope next year I am able to complete the full two days (as I write this with my leg elevated on a chair )
