i am cooking a real dinner tonight for the first time in a while...I've been so busy and getting home late so its been difficult but tonight I'm making a spanish staple...white rice with pepper steak and black beans. the black beans are made with diced calavaza squash, cilantro, beer, Chorizo (spanish sausage), 'tozino' which is pork fat back (its meant for flavoring u don't actually eat it unless u'd like to die of a heart attack at a young age. although I used to eat them all the time when i was little)
I HOPE THIS COMES OUT GOOD!!! but its the way pretty much everyone in my family used to make it so I hope it works!

lol, I'm puerto rican and I don't even eat it often...but every once in a while i try to make it so I can get better at it. Honestly...I like Italian food better than spanish most of the time.

sure...but its better for me to get it from my mom coz i usually eyeball it when i'm cooking and just taste it constantly until i like it.

This is the typical Puerto Rican way of cooking! LOL I have no recipes and when I actually have to write it down, I call mami!
