Hi - Did or does anyone get lower back pain in their pregnancy? My lower back hurt so badly today I had to stay home from work. I could barely walk. Thank goodness it is feeling alot better right now. I am guessing that the baby was just in a bad position for me.

Re: Back Pain
Is it your back or is it a little lower? I have not really had 'back' pain but my sciatic nerve has acted up a lot. I never had any problems until I became pregnant. I notice it if I'm on my feet a lot or trying to clean the house, etc. I definately feel it a lot and it makes it very uncomfortable to walk (we're talking severe granny-walk) or even to find a comfortable resting position. I find the thing that helps most is just relaxing and staying off my feet. Hope you feel better!

Re: Back Pain
Its my lower back - definatly the sciatic nerve. What did you do to make it feel better? Would a heating pad work? I never had a problem with my back either. I am just glad that I can walk around now and I can go back to work tomorrow.

Re: Back Pain
Besides staying off your feet and taking it easy, using a heating pad helps (though they say to use BRIEF periods of heat, not leave the heating pad on for a long time), and some stretches can help too. I found a little TLC from hubby helps too... 'honey can you massage here for a little bit'...

Re: Back Pain
I have sciatic pain when I walk around too much too. I only get it when Im pregnant. It stinks!!! Last night we took a walk and by the end I wanted to be in Emmas stroller. My pain is right around my tailbone. It just shoots pain. Pressure makes mine stop or just relaxing on my side.

Re: Back Pain
have your husband use a tennis ball to massage your back. I know it sounds weird, but it helps! Feel better!

Re: Back Pain
I saw a chiropractor my entire pregnancy and it helped me A LOT. I also found those thermscan (?) heat pad things to be a great help. They stick on and heat up.
