Back to skinny day #1

Original post by flibbertigibbet

Okay ladies.

Last year ... on the tuesday before Ash Wednesday after repeated ****-ness on the diet front I made a spur of the moment decision to start over again.

I started using Slim Fast and decided to stick it out for all of lent. (Not as what I was giving up for lent, just using it as a timeline) I figured if it was awful, it was only 40 days. And if it didn't start to work within 40 days... I'd try something else.

By the end of Lent I had gotten a good hold on counting calories and didn't even use Slimfast stuff anymore. Found better calorie bargains where I got more food. But kept counting. Writing everything down. Blah blah blah.

I hit 50 lbs down by Halloween time.

The lowest I got was 57 lbs down right before Thanksgiving.

I've chilled on the counting over the winter and have quit writing everything down which is SO HUGE.

I'm at 53 lbs down now. So ... 4 lbs put back on over the holidays and wintery laziness? I feel that's pretty good BUT NOT OKAY.

Back on TODAY.
Got my little notebook here... tracking calories and water intake.

Anyone with me?

WOW!!! That is amazing!!! Can you tell me your secret. Can I also see your before/After pics too?

ETA: I have 27 to go to get to my goal. I'm so in.

COngrats to you!!

Secret = oatmeal.

100% I eat it everyday.

You can use the packets of oatmeal if you want ... but I buy the lowest calorie ones I can and usually just eat plain.

If you get a tube of oatmeal ... 1/2 cup is 150 calories. I make a 1/3 cup 100 calorie serving several times a day. I make it with either water or skim milk and I'll throw in blueberries and splenda. Delish! BUT... you have to count everything. I usually put in 1/2 cup skim (40 calories) and 1/4 cup of blueberries (about 25 calories)

it all adds up. but before you know it, you know what the calories are for things you eat all the time. So its not that difficult to keep track.
