Back to Work

I am back to work at the office (been working from home) and I am miserable. I miss my baby sooo much and I really don't want to be here. I am so sad and wish I could stay at home

Oh Misha, I totally feel for you!!! Unfortunately I'll be going back to work after I have my baby also and I've been thinking about how hard it's going to be!!! Here's some hugs to get you through the day!

Hugs for you!
I will be going back to work in September...I think it will be REALLY hard because I'll already have been home with her for 5 months.

I am dreading it already!
I feel for you.
How are you doing otherwise?

Fortunately I am keeping very busy so my mind isn't on him every second, I would just cry all day. Tomorrow my husband is going to bring him to me at lunch time I hate this though and wish I could work from home for the next 3 years!

Re: Back to Work

I too went back to work - I went back 4 days full and realized quickly that it was to much - and therefore, realized we can adjust - I am now doing 3 1/2 days and I barly notice the difference (financially) however, just that 1/2 day more with my O. Catherine makes all the difference in the world.
We have a high mortgage and when I got pregnant we both said there is no way that I wouldn't have to go back 5 days - however, when there is a will there's a way - and we are just fine - in fact, we are still saving money -

I'm not saying I don't miss the 3 days I'm not with her but if you can work part time even for the first year (that's my plan)

However, like everyone else has said it's hard - but it has gotten easier - she is now 5 months - and I've been back for 3 months now -

I wake up earlier so I have time with her in the morning - and I spend 5:30 to about 9:30 with her at night...

Good Luck and keep us posted.

Re: Back to Work

Tara- I plan on working 3 days a week after my maternity leave is up. It will most likely be 2 days in office, 1 day at home and the baby will be with Dh at the company daycare center. He will have lunch with him/her most days too plus the car ride. So they will have a bit of their own time.
I am hoping that the 3 days a week will work out well for mommy and baby and daddy.

Re: Back to Work

You are lucky. I have to work full time and my boss wouldn't go for the work-from-home any longer
