Back&Married, my 3/23/03 review (long w/pictures added)

I planned this wedding in less than five months and everything worked out great, don't let anyone tell you that it can not be done!!!!

Dress
A+ Macys at Smithaven
My dress is Demetrios, I just love it!! Macys was great, the dress was in a month and a half before the wedding date. I had a detactable train, it was so easy to take off and on. The women who did the alterations did a great job!!!

MOH Dress
A+ off the discount rack at Bloomingdale's
I only had one girl in the party, so that made thing easy. I know she will be able to wear the dress again, I might even borrow it!

Tux
C VIP in Commack
The price was good and we liked the styles to pick from, but when it came time to pick them up, things were funny. The ties were sitting funny, jackets were too tight. They had little stains on the jackets. I know, no one else besides the guys in them would know something was wrong, but in the future we will never use them.
Also, since we were having a small party, they offered me a free dress cleaning instead of a discount. So when we went to return the tux and drop off the dress, they told me since one person did not get a tux who was on the list they would not clean my dress. At that point my husband went off on them. Long story short I am better off not leaving my dress with them anyway to be cleaned.

Hair and Make-Up

Great Job!!! I love them!!! Very happy with the hair and make-up. Michelle came to Natalie's house in commack. Michelle did my hair and my MOH, Natalie did my make-up, MOH and my mom's

It was beautiful and I love it but for the money I paid for it, I'm not sure if it is worth it.

Flowers

Bo-k's were perfect!!!! PERFECT!!! Just what I wanted!!!
Table flowers were simple, as I wanted. I just wish they were a little fuller, but not a big deal. Still really pretty.
The bouts. and cors. I was a little disappointed, they started to fall apart with all the hugging.

I thought he was great. I heard most of the songs that we wanted. I knew we didn't have a big dancing crowd. But he got the guests up for a bit, which was more than we could have hoped for!! He did the cermony music and cocktail hour, too!!!

What can I say.....They do a great job. Bob was our matr'ed. We knew at the rehearsal that he would be on top of things. We were the only wedding on Sunday, there was another party going on but didn't even know untill we were leaving. The Bridal Ass. was only OK, she dissappeared for a little while, whatever. They wraped my uneaten plate of food up for me to take home, which was nice.
We were in the Astor Room (main floor), which can hold up to 175 people, we had 104 people and 11 tables. I would not want to see the room with more than 150 in it.
The cermony was downstairs, they provide the flowers for that. They were all white because I hate the color pink.
The only minor thing was the wedding cake, It was tiered, not stack like I asked for. Bob ran and got my contract and called the baker, at that point nothing could be done. So I need to write a letter to the owner/manger to tell them. So we will see what happens with that.

Honeymoon
A Sandals - Ocho Rios - Jamaica
We had a great time!!! Pretty good weather!!! Met great people who could not beleive what we paid for a wedding on Long Island. My only beef with that Sandals was the lack of beach area.
