Now for table centerpieces, its still easy, just get the leis and place them around the table, and put the apetizers around them. The leis dress up the tables.
Also, you can get canned pineapple, and cherries, and place them as centerpieces in large margarita glases with the tropical umbrellas around it sprinkled with coconut flakes. Then place the leis around the table and you have your self a centerpiece!

oh geez- i just had another idea- Casino themed! FH loved poker and casinos.
since it's summer though, i think we're leaning toward a Polynesian themed party. But I love the casino idea as well- very different.

We're having a backyard pool-bbq-horseshoes-music type engagement party in August at FFIL's house. The whole idea is to keep it cheap as possible- FFIL is a retired chef so I am going to ask him to make a watermelon carving and antipasta platter, and recruit his big family to cook up some dishes, etc.
I wanted to incorporate some other cute touches, like CP's or favors, or some sort of theme- any ideas? But again, keeping cost down- not ordering CP's from the florist or something.
I was thinking maybe do a 'fiesta' type theme- serving mexican foods and margaritas and decorating accordingly? And a pinata for the kids (or drunk adults, lol)
Want some other ideas though! Thanks! And pictures are always appreciated!
we are having a backyard E-party too!
A Luau! I can't wait!
I got one of those Margaritaville Machines..... Huge Leis for my bridal party and regular ones for the other guests. and i ordered a ton of stuff from oriental trading, check them out they had tons of fiesta themed stuff!
good luck planning!
