We had ours in my backyard. FH cooked all the food and I decorated. At the time, our colors were pink and white. So the whole backyard was set up with those colors. For CPs, I bought small vases at Michaels and bought pink and white roses to put in them.. Since you're by the water, i would do something fun, like a luao or a beach themed party.

im going to go with a white, beachy summery theme - lots of white!! almost like a hamptons look!

what about something like this but with white flowers...you can just buy the vase at ACMOORE and buy a few twigs like this...then put candles down around it...that would look nice

Yeah I have the cheese graters for my e-party...mine is in my backyard too...I am doing centerpeices in dark red, hot pink and pink...I went to Flower Barn in Seaford and they are doing them for me...I bought the square vase from ACMoore and then they are putting the rose petals around them for free...I would check them out..they gave me a great price!
then I am getting tulle and lights for the tent...and then putting the candles in my pool (b/c you have to walk past it to get to the tent)...are you getting a tent?

I think you should definitely use votives, they look beautiful on a summer night..

You can use white tulle and decorate banisters, railings or gates. You can get some regular balloons to dress up the corners of the yard. Defintely go with candles so when it gets dark you can light them up and keep the ambiance alive. Maybe see what kind of tablecloths you can use with pretty napkins and cups. Party City or Michaels should have some good stuff for you.
