Re: backyard wedding

be careful with the house rental for weddings. they will require you to have
insurance,
valet,
portable restrooms,
a tent w flooring,
a generator for all the electric from music
lighting
cooking area for caterer
and then you have to rent tables, chairs, etc
staffing
and find hotels accomodations for all your guests in the area.

If you can afford it go for it, but i used to plan weddings at homes, and this could run you 100K easily

Re: backyard wedding

Founders landing you have to be a resident of southold park district or know someone who is. It is about 500 a day for rental and you do have to take out against a homeowner policy, i know someone tgat did a wedding there for less than 20g she used russ moran catering who has the tent and all the rentals plus does all tge food and cake and drinks hes a nice guy

Re: backyard wedding

If money is no object I would try Drift Wood Farms in Orient Point. Not a house but a private farm on the water. Also, a lot of the Inns and B&B's are on the water and can set up tents.

HTH!

Thanks for the input ladies! I have a couple of appointments to check out places.

I also looked into Vineyards Bedell Cellars 10K-15k site fee eek!! I absolutely love fire island and that is definitely an option, never really been to shelter island so not familiar just know you have to ferry out there.

I have a lot of research to do thanks again for the help!!

Seems like you are in the same boat as a lot of the brides getting married at my hall. There are not many places out east that give the North or South shore feel without charging 10k+ for a site fee. I found my hall was the only place with a vineyard that doesn't charge 5K or more to book.

Re: backyard wedding

DH cousin had her wedding at her aunts house at their mansion in Stony Brook. It was beautiful! It was such an awesome wedding.

Re: backyard wedding

Hey, I know this thread is old but hoping to get some info....

Anybody know the site fee at Driftwood Farms? I emailed/ called but haven't heard back yet. It looks amazing but as I am quickly finding out - anything that perfect is extremely expensive. Old Field would be a good case in point - we love the vineyard but $10,000 just to show up is not in our budget.

We can have our wedding at Founders Landing but I am a little concerned with the logistics. Anybody know what the deal is with putting up a tent, etc. there? It says online it can only be a 30x30 tent but I have heard of a bunch of people getting married there. Maybe there wedding was a lot smaller than ours? Or, do they make exceptions on the tent rule?

Thanks!

Re: backyard wedding

I'm hoping you can help! I've been emailing tons of owners on vrbo.com and no one is interested in renting to me because I plan on having a 'family party' on the property. I searched for the house where yours was, 185356, and nothing came up. Can you give me any other details so i might find the house! I'm dying to have my wedding in a backyard out east. thanks so much!!!
