Bad Birthday present, BAD!

The roof guy gave us an estimate today on how much it is going to cost to fix the damage ont eh roof that we got from Hurricane Charley. 9k, yup you read that right, 9 thousand dollars to fix the roof alone! Not even any of the other damage we have.
Why couldn't we get that info tomorrow?

Yes we do have hurricane insurance but because of Hurricane Andrew (many insurance companies went bankrupt) our deductable is quite high, its high everywhere in Florida. The law states that it is 2% of the value of your house.

Happy Birthday. I am so sorry about the bad news. Is there any way you'll get federal help for that since they declared it a disaster zone? I hope you get some kind of help to rebuild the damage!!

thats sucks!! 2% of the value of the house is a HUGE deductible!!
