I posted this in another thread but decided that I am so upset that I needed to start a new thread. I have a leave replacement teaching position and was told over a month ago that I am eligible for insurance. I filled out paperwork and I even just received my insurance card in the mail. Today, as I was leaving, after staying two extra hours to get work done, I checked my mailbox. I received a letter stating very briefly that it was a mistake and I am not eligible. I am so angry and upset that I was misinformed. They put all of this paperwork in my mailbox and told me that I was eligible! Besides that, I start my third job next week. There is no health insurance or a permanent teaching position in sight!

Re: Bad day...
I'm sorry . . .I also know how you feel b/c I am a teacher and have been given a lot of crap regarding benefits.
I have been told about HealthyNY - it's like Cobra but much cheaper. It's supposedly the best insurance out there for people who are not 'eligible'.
But OMG!! How annoying that they wait until you get the card in the mail to tell you that it was all for nothing!!
Good Luck!

Re: Bad day...
Thanks for the support, ladies. I guess I have to try applying for one of these insurance options I am hearing mentioned. I start my third job next week so I don't know if I will meet the income requirements. I don't make much, though! The teaching pay is good right now but that is only for another 2 months. By the way, thanks for the suggestions. I am an English teacher.
