I posted this on BHB by accident - sometimes I forget what board I am on!
I can't believe it. FH just called me. He does house appraisals. While he was doing one someone broke the window out of his car and stole his GPS unit (it is a nice expensive one). Now he has to pay to get a new driver's side window and a new GPS unit What is wrong with people?!? The guy clearly was just after the GPS, since FH said he had a portable DVD player in the back seat and it was still there.
UPDATE: FH had full glass - so insurance covered the window His job said they would cover the new GPS FH just needs to buy a new camera (he dropped it on his way into the appraisal! the same appraisal that he was doing when his car was broken into - poor FH!). WHat are the chances? So that isn't so bad at all

That's just terrible. Make sure he files a police report - chances are that the insurance company will replace the window w/no out-of-pocket expense. If he had insurance for the GPS system, there might also be some type of insurance.

oh no! people are really awful. someone broke my dad's side window last week. call up your insurance company and see if you have glass coverage.

Definitely. FH is my #1 priority - thank goodness it was just his car and GPS and not him!
