Has anyone had any bad experiences with dying their shoes?
I want to dye my shoes like a royal purple color and I'm hesitant because, dare i say it, if it rains that day do you think the dye will get all over my dress? Just wanted to know your experiences with dyeable shoes...

Just make sure you ask them to waterproof it

Yea, there is a spray they put on it. or you may have to buy the spray and you do it your self.

I think you may need to spray them yourself...I'm having mine dyed a BRIGHT fuchsia/purple color, and they tell you it will run in the rain...I'm not too worried though. I'm more worried it will rub off on my feet!!!

There is a good chance it will rub off on your feet! It happened it me! I had shoes dyed black and later that night the bottom of my toes had black dye all over them. It finally came off after a few days of scrubbing! Looks like we will be headed to our honeymoon with fuchsia and purple toes!!

The one time I worn dyed shoes in the rain they ran A Lot...thank god I had a floor lenght gown b/c they had terrible water stains- I ended up throwing them out they were beyond help!

just be careful cause while they look good they sure are a pest. I wore dyeables for my cousins wedding in a royal blue and it rained. We thought it was fine bc we had waterproofed them bit no. My feet were blue for a week. I looked like a smurf

I had a very bad experience iwth expensive dyeable shoes. As soon as our feet got wet in any way they turned color. I stepped onto the grass at Westbury Manor in my friends BP and all off out shoes chnaged color. If Its a long dress it doesn't matter but if it's short I would be a tad afraid.
