BAD LUCK

BAD LUCK

I got rearended last night - twice.

I was the front car in a 3 car collision. Luckily for me, my dad is a MVA lawyer and has conditioned me to stop far from the car in front of me, so I was not caused to his anyone else.

My car is f*cked up, so was the guy's behind me. The guy who hit us both ended up with a totalled car that was leaking gas and the fire department had to come.

FH was in the passenger seat. He is the most calm, docile person ever and usually I am the one that handles confrontation if someone does something to us, but since I was driving he went into immediate 'man' mode. He was in my face asking if I was OK before we even got hit the 2nd time and when we came to a stop, he jumped out of the car and ran back to find out what the f*ck that guy was thinking (he must've been going 60 mph). This is very uncharacteristic of him. Then he literally stopped traffic on a major roadway (Route 347) so that I could pull off to the side.

We are both banged up, but OK. THe worst is that I have to get my car fixed, but the guy who hit us had Geico - known in the industry to be the best insurance for compensating those who are not at fault in a rear end collision. They held up to their rep - last not they concded 100% fault and already have me set up to get a rental car and repairs.

Sigh....

Re: BAD LUCK

sorry to hear that. that really stinks. I would seriously get checked out by a doc if i were you because my friend got rear ended and thought she was fine and wound up with serious back issues and she was out of work for 3 months. Even if you feel no pain now just get it checked out.

I am so sorry that you had to go through this!

Some good things - your FH totally 'manned up'. I have the same type of guy - most laid back guy i've ever met but when something happens - it's MEGA MAN to the rescue.

Another good thing - it's being taken care of by their insurance company already....

Wait & see how you are feeling tomorrow. If you have any pain - it may not show up until a day or two after... Please let us know how you are doing!

I also stop far behind the cars in front of me...I once heard that there should be no less than 1 car length for every 10 MPH. It makes sense and I stick to it, but people are so freakin' aggressive.

I am glad that you and FH are ok.

I had to teach this to FH the other day.. He likes to tail gate, and then wonders why i gasp everytime someone taps their brakes in front of us. He been doing better since i told him.

AAh that really *****! I think I actually heard this come over the fire dept scanner last night (my brother and dad are in the fire dept), but it wasnt our town..

I hope your ok, but you should definitely go to the doc incase you have whip lash or a concussion. You dont have to have hit your head to have a concussion, if you were hit hard enough it could have jolted your brain enough internally to hit your skull..
