Bad luck showing the dress to FH??

Can someone explain to me why it's considered bad luck to show the dress to FH before the wedding? I mean, we share everything, there are no secrets between FH and me, so why can't I show him a picture, I want to share my excitment with him.

As a side note, I don't really believe in bad luck, if it's ment to be it will be.

I'm torn about this too. I love having FH help me pick out clothes - he has scary good taste But I also love the idea of him seeing it for the first time at the church. I don't think it's bad luck, I just think it'll be more fun that way for me.

my FH has seen pictures of my dress from online....but he refuses to see pics of ME in it...so that it's the first time on our wedding day...really cute of him.

i say show him the pics of the model...then on your wedding day, it's all fresh and new to him..my FH couldn't describe my dress to me now if his life depended on it!

I am always with my FH when i find the best dresses...thats because he is only shopping for me, when my friends go we are shopping for each other and ourselves, he is like my personal shopper!
and everything he finds is on sale!

I want my FH to be surprised when he see's me. I think it's more fun that way. He does not know what to expect

FH helped me pick my dress. I trust his opinion and wanted him with me. I don't believe in bad luck either.

FH usually picks out better clothes for me than I do...but this one thing he is not allowed to see...I'm traditional it wanting him to see me when the church doors open up....I can't wait to see his face!!!
I'm not sure if its bad luck per say but I really think its a nice surprise.

Also: we're probably going to the church together. Getting parental blessing at my house and then going to the church, so he'll see me before the cerimony anyway.

I'm torn about this too! I have been dying to show him pics of my dress since I decided it was the one! I still may show him an online picture of it from the company's website but I'm trying to hold out

My FH was with me when I bought the dress. I'm not very superscious. We both figured if we are doomed we are doomed with or without him seeing the dress.

I showed FH a picture when I first ordered it! First of all he will never remember what the heck I showed him , second he didnt see it in person or on me so I done care!

I thought it was bad luck if he saw you before the wedding, not necessarily the dress. Me and FH tell each other everything so its killing me to keep everything a secret. But I want it to be a surprise for him, but I dont think showing your FH the picture of your dress is going to give you any bad luck, especially since you dont believe in it.

i actually wanted my FH to see the dress--but he refuses. he adamantly does NOT want to see the dress until the day of!

yeah i know, me too!!! i thought it would be cool to get his feedback-- i don't care about luck, i make my own luck. but of course, FH wants to be surprised which i understand, oh well

Its not a matter of it being bad luck...its a matter of it being a surprise...even if you're going to see other before the ceremony...

Same here, I don't believe in the bad luck warning either, but I wanted to surprise him when he saw me for the first time at the ceremony. It was definitely hard keeping it from him though! There were times when I wanted to cave.
