I woke up thinking someone was breaking into our apartment, just to find my FH was leaving late for work... an hour has past and my heart is still beating out of my chest and I am literally shaking
back story - a guy was arrested 4 days ago for trying to break into my neighbors apartment

Re: bad morning
lol - If I wasn't alone 95% of my time I wouldn't be so worried... but there has been some sketchy stuff going on around here lately...
worst thing is - we pay alot to live in a luxury community with securtity - so OBVIOUSLY their security sucks and they need to step up their game!

Re: bad morning
I would freak me out too!!! FH leaves really early some mornings for work & he always kisses me goodbye when I'm sleeping but has a habit of leaning over me before actually kissing me. He has almost gotten punched a few times. He finds it soo funny & teases me about it all the time lol
My suggestion get a bat it may sound crazy but I lived alone for many years & the first thing my dad got me was a bat. It actually made me feel alot better just having it next to my bed.

oh man, i'm sorry. have you talked to your development company to see if they are doing anything extra due to the recent break in? at the very least they should be doing extra patrols or something.

We have seen alot more cops circling the area...but it doesn't ease my fears 100%

Re: bad morning
I'm so sorry!
My house/car has been broken into 3 times in the past 4 years (back out in WA) and so it takes a lot for me to be comfortable when I go to sleep too, its scary when you think someone is out there.
I sleep with a bat next to my bed (one of those wooden batons that you see cops carry in London). Just knowing its there makes me feel a little better.

Re: bad morning
I would think the same thing if I was in your shoes. Maybe you should sleep with something next to your bed. I would be so pissed off at security. Is there anything you can do as far as complaining.

Re: bad morning
So glad that wasn't the case. I know the feeling. FH and I watch forensic files before bed & it creeps me out. I'm always thinking someone is at the window or going to break in! ahhhh
