Bad news for me....

Well...I went for the HSG test last week and a blood test. They both came back abnormal. I have a under-active thyroid...and my HSG test showed that I only have 1 tube....the other never fully developed. These 2 issues together are probably why I have not gotten PG. So....my doctor is sending me to se a RE.

What should I expect? What should I ask?

Why is this so hard....

I'm not sure what to tell you to ask but I wanted to wish you lots of luck and just know that there are lots of others going through what you are with different issues but wanting to become pregnant and having difficulty.

I'm so sorry! I don't really know what will happen next but I've read stories about women who were able to get pregnant and have healthy children without any tubes via invitro.

Hypothyroidism (undr active) is very common. My Mom has it and I'm predisposed to develop it. My Mom had 2 kids...without problem.

Your doctor will know what to do for you, don't worry, it will work out and you will be a Mommy

I am sooo sorry about the results of your test!
But going to the RE is a step in the right direction. As for what to expect on your first RE appt...I would say plan for it to be about 2 hours. You and your doctor will go over you cycle history, Family history, s/he will do a check up and you can talk about what tests to take next and how aggresive to be in treatments.

You only need one tube for the egg to pass through. As far as being hypothyroid, they will put you on medication to allow your levels to fall between .3-3....which is appropriate for the first trimester. I am hyperthyroid, and have been taking PTU. MY Tsh was untraceable, but now it's at .8....

The RE will probably advice you to treat the hypothyroid before anything else. However, they may prescribe clomid to allow you to produce more follicles, so you have a great chance of ovulating.

It's always hard to receive news about tests where they phrase it 'abnormal'. Seeing an Re...is always a good idea. So far I am very happy with mine, if you want a recommendation FM me.
