My cousins MIL passed away today of a sudden heart attack. Her other son is due to get married in a week and I don't know how they can even think about the wedding or what to do at this point. It's such a hard decision. What would you do?

oh my g-d....that is horrible. i don't know if i could go through with a wedding if that happened to me.

I feel that way too. No decisions have been made or even discussed. The couple has been engaged for over 2 years and together for I think 8. The whole situation is hard. FH's mother passed 3 years ago suddenly and it's still hard.

I'll probably have the ceremony and not the party, and hopefully they let them use the money for a later date.

That is horrible. I am so sorry for your family and your cousin. That is hard. I honestly do not know what I would do. My condolences to your family.

i'm so sorry for you & your family. it's a really tough decision. i'm sure she would not want them to cancel their wedding, but on their part it would really be hard to have a reception and be happy that day.
i agree, i think having the ceremony and holding off on the reception might be the best thing. so sorry again.

Oh that's so sad :( I lost a parent a few years back to a sudden heart attack and I'm still a wreck... My heart goes out to the family.
But would the person who passed away, be happy they cancelled their wedding? It's a tough decision and only one that can be made by the people involved. I'd probably still have the wedding... and know they would be there in spirit...
