I need help from anyone who is still around. I have an awful sore throat..last night when I got out of the shower I went straight into the ac and now I have such a bad sore throat! Do you think if I take ibuprofin it will help me? Its all we have here besides excedrin.

As long as you are not preagnant you can take 800mgs. of ibuprophen (4 200 mg. tabs) every 6 hours. If it is viral you will have to let your body get rid of it but if it is bacterial you need antibiotics. You should see your Dr. ASAP. Hope this helps. I have 12 years in the medical feild.

Thank you..I just took 4 of them...this is just from the ac, im sure of it..I get strep all the time and its definately not that! Thanks again!

I am not in the medical field but I was going to say halls drops and honey with tea. it will give some simple relief!

I always ate Ice Cream...that helped alleviate the pain.
