Bad Vacation Stories...
OK...Here's one for your reading enjoyment
When I was about 16 my father and I and his sister, her daughter and her boyfriend went to Puerta Vallarta Mexico for a week. It was a great resort, nice pool and all that. We went on a day trip to La Isla Muertas (The Island of Women??) where the only way to get there is either by boat or water plane. There was this couple (honeymooners) on the boat and the wife was really see seasick. So her new husband would go down to the galley to get her water to help ease her stomach and while he was down there he'd slam back a few beers and then come up to help her out. THe island was boring but thankfully we didn't stay there that long. As we were sailing back I'm looking out over the water and I see this guy floating in the water. I turn to my dad and say 'Gosh, he's really floated far from shore' when all of a sudden his head bobs underneath the water and stays there! I found a dead body!
Turns out there was a boating accident the day before and they found all the people on the boat except this one guy. We ended up waiting there with the body for about 2 hours until the Coast Guard came to claim the body.
While we were waiting, I started talking to the guy who was on his honeymoon and asked him how his wife was feeling and he said 'What wife'? I said...'the wife you came to Mexico with...remember?' He LEFT HER ON THE ISLAND!!! They had to send a sea plane to pick her up. Nice guy huh!
Vacations with my family are like the 'National Lampoon' vacations. Next time I'll tell you about my horror vacation I had when I was 18...stuck at a couples resort with my dad and his girlfriend and no one under the age of 40.
