Bad Vendor Experience - www.clayfigurines.com

Original post by kittythestray

I WOULD NOT ORDER FROM HERE! They are a company in Mexico and IMO think it's false advertising!! I ordered from them because the toppers on their site are sooo good. I sent them 10 pictures (5 of each cat) and a detailed description of my cats. They said how pretty my cats were and how they could do the topper. Their website says they would not be exact replicas (they never say that in an e-mail or on the order form), which is FINE, but these are SLOPPY and SMEARED, and look NOTHING like the NICE quality work they advertise. They delayed shipping twice and never e-mailed me to tell me it was delayed - I had to keep e-mailing to say 'What's going on' and they would e-mail me back after 3 or 4 e-mails and say “something came up, 2 more weeks...” that happened TWICE. When my topper finally arrived it was a piece of JUNK. I e-mailed them over 20 times about it and they NEVER replied and they have NO phone # and they're in Cancun Mexico so it's not like you can do much. I had to REORDER A NEW ONE FROM ANOTHER COMPANY and pay a rush fee!! I rarely post a negative because there are 2 sides to every story, but since I e-mailed them over TWENTY times and they IGNORED me, they obviously don't have a side to the story!! I TOLD them in SEVERAL e-mails if they didn't respond I would post their work and my negative experience on EVERY bridal board I could find, and clearly they don't care because they still ignored me!
I asked them to do one of my cats - This was what they sent me - it looks like a 2 year old did it!!
pictures do not do justice to how BAD these are - the bottoms have TIN FOIL sticking out and you can see the persons FINGERPRINT IMPRESSIONS all over the clay, the paints all smeared... I could go on!!

These are ones they advertise on their site - HOW does mine compare in ANY way to these??

i didnt think the first one was horrible....i also have a clay figurine cake topper ( not from them tho) and i see fingerprints on them...i dont think there is anything you can do about it.... they are hand sculpted...but the new ones you got do look alot nicer.

i know other people who used them and had a great experience....for every bad review...there will be 10 good ones...people just have to use their gut and see what happens for themselves.....

They probably delayed shipment because the kindergartner who did them probably got sick and couldn't finish. I'm sorry but there is a HUGE difference between the two vendors works. I'm sorry you had to go through that awful experience

I was thinking the same thing. The second one's you ordered looked like they took more time to get the detail rather then the first ones.

Oh Wow...iIdidn't know whether to laugh out loud or to cry after reading that...........it was really funny looking at the first one and then seeing the difference with the 2nd one you got, never mind that fact that the first one advertises such great work....which you obviously didnt get! You must have opened the box and been like ***???!!!

Re:

They delayed in delivery by 8 days, almost a week before my event, but otherwise they really did a great job, the topper was a hit, everybody was amazed with likeness, I don't know if regret or be thankful to them. I was looking through my wedding pictures and found a picture of my cake topper, now I am happy with my experience ordering from them. Now my sister in love is getting married next year and I'm thinking of getting a Custom cake topper to give her as a wedding gift. She is a dentist and a soccer player, the groom likes scuba diving, I would like to integrate their passions into the cake topper. It is not necessary the figurines looks like them. Any recommendations will be really appreciated.

Re: Bad Vendor Experience - www.clayfigurines.com

I was also scammed by clay figurines.com

I paid them a deposit. They sent me a proof of the clay figurines of 2 dogs

One of the dogs--the bride looked fine

My dog--the groom looked terrible. I emailed them back letting them know that the groom did not look like the photos i emailed them

I have not heard back from them. Have tried emailing several times as they have no phone #.

Do you have the name of where you had your figurnes made of the cats?

This wedding is in less than 2 weeks (Oct 1st)

Please help if you can

Thanks Sarah
