Bah!

Bah!

I'm a little upset...it's definitely not a big deal, but just made me a little sad. My nana gave us our Christmas gifts, and gave us pieces of her jewelry that she no longer wears. She gave me an amethyst heart necklace, because it's my birthstone. But she gave my sister the white sapphire snowflake I was going to borrow for my DOJ! I don't know...she knew I had planned on wearing it and said I could, so I'm just a little upset that she gave it to my sister instead. I don't know, I guess it will still be something borrowed...just borrowing it from the wrong person! Ugh.

That stinks!!! I am sorry. Lucky she gave it to someone who will let you borrow it.

Re: Bah!

That stinks but as long as your sister will let you borrow it, don't stress.

Re: Bah!

Ugh, the more I'm thinking about it as the night went on, the more upset I'm getting. I don't even know if I want to wear it anymore. Is that weird of me? I don't know, I just feel like it wouldn't be right now, like that she didn't want me to have it, so I shouldn't wear it. Plus I don't want to deal with having my sister laud it over me, she already shoved it in my face when she opened it, so I really don't want to have to ask her to borrow it now. UGH.

Re: Bah!

Maybe ask her if it is ok for you to still wear that the day of the wedding? Maybe she didnt give it to you because she knew it was supposed to be your something borrowed? I woudnt let it upset you too much, im sure it wasnt that she doesnt want you to wear it!

Re: Bah!

Awww I'm sorry Ali. Thats so strange that she did that! Maybe she made a mistake and u were supposed to get that one and your sis was supposed to get the other one?

Re: Bah!

No, it was def intentional. I got the other one because it's my birthstone. The weird part is she came into my room as things were winding down at end of night and tried to rationalize it even further, and asked me if I was upset about it. I said no, of course, because what was I going to say? It's just bizarre. And it's not that I don't appreciate the gift I did receive, it's just a big clunky stoned necklace that I know I'll never wear, and I always loved that snowflake so much.

that really stinks. I would be pretty pissed and would not want to wear it anymore....like u said, if she gave it to ur sis instead apparently it was meant for her

Me and my mom were in a similar situation years ago....My grandma had just gotten back from her annual trip to sicily to visit our family and her sister who had always promised her white gold and pearl bracelet to my mother since she was a kid decided to send it to me instead. When I opened the box, I had no idea that it was the same bracelet promised to my mom, I showed it to her and she was devastated, she was happy for me but at the same time she was like 'I can't believe she sent it to you after she told me she was going to give it to me'..I felt really bad esp. since the bracelet was given to my aunt by her mother (my moms granny, my great granny). It obviously meant more to my mom than to me so I told her she could have it, use it whenever she wanted but she was upset and said no 'she wanted you to have it'

My mom wasnt mad that I got it but kind of upset about the whole ordeal.
