UGH!!!! I need to vent!!! Some of you may have seen my posts almost three weeks ago about FH leaving his ring at the ER and then getting a phone call that the nurses found it (he's a paramedic and left it by the sink when he was washing his hands)
In any case - we have been trying to get in touch with this one damn nurse for almost three weeks because according to EVERYONE in the ER - she's the one who had the ring. Everyone and their mother left this woman mesages to call us and I was speaking to different people in the ER on a daily basis!!! In any case - I finally get the moron on the phone right now and all she says is that she doesn't have it - yeah - she acknowledges that everyone has called her but she can't call us back????? Ready for this - the idiot says she left FH's ring on a BULLETIN BOARD!!!! Why would you do that after leaving someone a message saying you had their ring?? Shocker of shockers - it's gone!!!! Who the heck leaves someone's wedding ring on a bulleting board? I was so enraged when I spoke to this woman that I pretty much just had to hang up on this woman because I was about to lose it. So now I am sitting here crying because for the past three weeks we've thought someone has had his ring and they don't!!!!! I totally want to blow up this woman though and write letters to the head people at the hospital - thanking the nurses who actually tried to call us - while calling her out... But - I dont want to piss this woman off in case it does show up again - yeah fat chance of that!!! Thanks for letting me vent!!! WHat would you guys do?

Re: BAH HUMBUG!!! (long)
Honestly, I think she had it and may have sold it. I HIGHLY doubt that she put a wedding ring on a bulletin board. She probably didn't realize that everyone knew who the owner was and that you'd be looking to get the ring back.
Maybe it's a SMALL possibility that she put it on the bulletin board. But, that's really not likely.
Definitely start your letter writing! It's very unlikely that she will end up with the ring again...

That's disgusting if she did that - she's the one who left us that first message!!!

Re: BAH HUMBUG!!! (long)
First of all, I think she is probably related to the woman who kept my registry gift and never called me, but that's just MY opinion
No, but seriously, I would go TO the hospital when she's working and ask her to SHOW ME where she put it. Sometimes when people are face to face with what they did, they will fess up or you may get more of the story.
I would just like to tell you that my father has lost EVERY SINGLE WEDDING BAND he has had from my mother. He would always take them off at work (he's a science professor and can't always wear them in the lab), and then they'd either be in the garbage somehow without him knowing or someone would inevitably walk off with it.
I'm sorry you are going through this. Some people really piss me off and I have to tell you, this nurse would be one of them. But I definitely suggest going down there.

Re: BAH HUMBUG!!! (long)
I am going to call the head of all the nurses for the entire hospital on Monday and make a complaint. I didn't want to do that initially - but you know what - people are forever calling the president of the university where I work and complain about everything. DH is working tonight but their hours dont overlap (different hospital but he often goes there)
I'm just annoyed that I didn't go off on the woman a little bit!!

Don't forget it was your FH that left it there in the first place. Even if he was asked to take it off... its his responsibility to hold onto it.
You can go down there and write all the letters you want... but I doubt it will do much good in the end.
You are at their mercy on this.

Michal, I'm so sorry - I know how happy you were when you got the call that his ring was found! I don't know how much you really can do. You can write a letter to the hospital, but I don't know what affect that would really have...what a bi-atch!!

if a nurse said she had it, the nurse should've returned the ring to the rightful owner

Re: BAH HUMBUG!!! (long)
you might want to get a legal opinion....you probably could sue her in small claims court. She has an obligation to return it...it was negligent to have left it on the bulliten board (which i highly doubt is what she did). You probably wont get the ring back but at least you'd be able to recoup some money. And yes, I'd definetly do some letter writting as well!

Re: BAH HUMBUG!!! (long)
accidents happen and people cant always remember to put there rings back on when they wash there hands i left my e ring behind on a few occasions but was lucky enough to have people i can trust in my office. i think the nurse that had the ring became responsible for it and should have held on to it or given it to someone trust worthy to safe guard it untill jamie could make arrangemenst to get it. to put it on a public bulletin board was not only careless but plain stupid. im sorry michal i hope it turns up

Nope - left him a message the very next morning saying she found the ring - and now - 3 weeks later - it's taken this long to track him down- she is now telling everyone that she left it on the bulletin board!!

I agree, go there when she is on duty and ask her where she put it exactly....GOOD LUCK!!!

I am very sorry that this happened. Please let us know if you talk to anyone at the hospital about this!
