Bahamas Question

you can travel to the caribbean UNTIL december 31, 2006 with just your birth certificate, although they WILL give you a lecture...i traveled with just my birth certificate and license for our honeymoon b/c i didn't previously have a passport and didn't wnat to spend the $$$ to get one to immediatley have the name changed on it. plus we booked our HM late so i was at risk of not getting it in time anyway...so we did the bahamas to be sure i didn't need a passport.


so, to answer your question, you do not need a passport for the rest of the year....but it's best to just get one if you can....the line at the airport to return is MURDER.

eta-noting your wedding date, you'll be fine....but the customs line on the way back is ugly....there's a sep. 'us citizens with passports ONLY' express line....if you don't have a passport, you have to stand in the line with all those without one and those NOT us citizens!
