Don't think I'm ignoring anyone - I read every one and appreciated everything you all said.
As far as a Bailey update, tonight he is doing so much better. More himself, when I came home from work today (my mom stayed home with him all day) he ran up to me and was wagging his tail! When I went to pet him he started crying but just the fact that he ran was such a HUGE improvement from even this morning.
Also, the vet called me today.. They apologized for the way things were handled. They said the secretary was supposed to have called me and that she was reprimanded for the whole situation because a lot of it was miscommuniction. SO of course I took this opportunity again to vent to the vet and tell him what a miserable bithc she is.
My original estimate was $322-350.. After talking to the vet, and him apologzing he is charging me $475. I can live with this.
He also said the reason they extracted so many teeth were because his gums were infected and it was probably causing him pain to eat food, he's also about 1 lbs underweight - and it may be because the teeth were preventing him from eating. He assures me the dog will be fine eating anything, and that I should find that he's eating more.
Anyway I'm never taking him back there. I am calling Miller Place animal clinic on Monday for a second opinion anyway - A couple girls on here recommended it, it's right near my house, and my boss recommended it as well.

Aww glad he's doing better. As I said in the other thread, my parents' chihuahua went through this, his teeth were infected and he needed a few taken out and since that happened his whole personality changed and he is a happier, more lively dog! So hopefully Bailey will be back to his happy self soon. Glad the vet worked with you on the bill, that's way more reasonable.

What a relief that a) Bailey's making progress, and b) the vet was professional enough to call you and make things right with the bill.
The secretary should be fired. I would not want a b*tch like that representing my clinic.

glad to hear he is doing better. my dog had surgery a few months ago....its slow in the beginning but then they start to bounce back.

Im soo glad he is doing better... take one day at a time! he will slowly but surely get better.. and running up to you is just one huge step with more to come!!!
Im also glad you are taking him to antoher vet and wont be bringing him back there! i guess its good that the vet is making things right with the bill but he really shouldnt have charged you any more than your original estimate at least IMO.. but that said at least Bailey is doing better!!!!

Youll like Miller Pl animal hosp. Theyre nice. They've always called to check up on any of my pets after any procedure including my monster ferrer who bit everyone there.
And im glad that vet changed the bill. It was the right thing to do.

I'm so happy he is doing better. The fact that he ran to you is a sign that he is doing so much better than he was!! And for the vet calling you to apologize... but I agree, I would not go back there.
