Just curious...how many of you have a tulle ball gown?
A dress that I love comes with either a plain a-line skirt or tulle ball gown. The dress is very simple, just a few beads and crystals on the bodice. Is it too plain with the a-line skirt? Here's some pics:
Which one do you like better?

I like the A-line better, but I also will agree that this dress is too plain, and if I were to wear it, I would jazz it up with a pretty necklace to accent it.

I think it depends on how you want to feel. I think the toulle is more 'princess' (IMO) and the A-line more subdued. I do like both of them. With the A-line, you can also but a fuller slip underneith to make it more 'poofy'. I think I'd be inclined to go with the A-line, but that is just my opinion....

I have a tulle gown. I love it. I debated for a long time whether or not I should get an a-line, but then I decided I am always wearing something body clinging and sexy and for one day out of the year I want to look completely different.
I love that dress- #1 it is so glamorous!!!

Have you tried either of these on?
That will help you decide. Tulle gowns do not flatter certain body types, where as A-Line can be very flattering to most.
I still love the Tulle, but it has to look good on YOU.

I agree with Nrvbrd - she try both on see which looks better on. But, I'm a big fan of the tulle bottom - you're only a bride once!

You definately need to try on both and see what YOU like best, not what we like. We all have different tatses.

i love the tulle skirt better. it gives it a unique look and will look more outstanding than an A-line skirt

Thanks girls. I've tried them on and I think they both look good. I'm just indecisive about the skirt. I can't decide which I like better. I think I'm leaning towards the tulle skirt because I the a-line looks too plain.

Do you have an idea what you want the BM dresses to look like? Maybe one skirt matches the bm dresses you have in mind better than the other one.

If both are flattering, I would go for the tulle bottom. How often will you get a chance to wear something like that.

I have a ball gown without tulle. But, I think you should really try them both on to see what you like best.

I have a ball gown with tulle. I love it! I originallly thought I would never get a dress with tulle but, I was so glad I did. You never know until you try it on and see how it looks.

Re: ball gown help
My dress was organza (similiar to tulle) because that's how *I* envisioned myself as a bride What's most important is your vision of YOURSELF as a bride. None of us can tell you that. Either way, it's a beautiful gown. You can't go wrong.

Re: ball gown help
WOW the first one looks so much like mine so i am partial to the tulle of course, basically it is what you picture yourself as a bride wearing, it has always been my dream to be like a princess so there was no question for me, what did you picture?
Also trying them both on should be helpful, sometimes different body types look better in certain styles, A-line tends to flatter any figure though so you couldnt really go wrong.
Bring your camera when you try them on let us see!
Good Luck!

Re: ball gown help
I normally do not like tulle, but on this dress I think it works. The A-line on this dress is too plain, the dress looks boring. The tulle bottom definitely makes it more striking. How do you picture yourself on your wedding day? Do you want to have the traditional princess look or do you want to go for a more subdued, untraditional type of vibe? What is your personality like, your personal style? When I tried on dresses that had the typical 'princess' look, everyone thought it just wasn't me, myself included.
