Has anybody ever seen any balloon decorations at a wedding before? I thought they might look cute, but I don't want my reception to look like a high school reunion! Any comments? Thanks in advance.

Don't do it. A wedding is supposed to be an elegant affair. What look are you going for?

I don't know what kind of ceremony you are having but I have seen the bride and groom release balloons at the church after the ceremony it is cute.

The balloon release we're going to do through the limo company-thanks for the suggestion, Heathera! Rosie, we are most likely going to use the flowers that the hall gives which are 6 roses in a small bowl/vase. I thought that since we are keeping the centerpieces small, adding balloons somehow in the hall would add more decoration. But I've never seen balloons at a wedding so I don't know how it would look.

What color are the roses? I think the roses in the vase sounds very elegant, but I would not suggest using the roses. Have you thought about using candles? It would make the room look so romantic. I'm a huge advocate for using thousands of candles on anything that doesn't move. Also, they can double as you favors.

To tell you the truth, I hadn't really thought of candles. But that does sound nice. And now that you mentioned it, candles do sound much more romantic and wedding-ish than balloons. Thanks for the idea!

By the way, I just read my last post and I didn't mean that I didn't like the roses idea. I meant to put balloons. I love the roses as centerpieces! Sorry for the confusion!!!

Is it worse that you wrote the wrong thing or that I understood it anyway? =o)

Actually it is scary because you wrote the wrong thing and I knew what you meant also! I am having candles as well, it defintely adds a romantic element to to the room.

Balloons are something that can be used alone, or in conjunction with traditional table decor. We've done many weddings with elegant balloon pieces on the tables, and many where we accented areas with balloons sculptures. Full size bride-and-groom sculptures, walk through hearts at the entrances, even a huge Cinderella carriage over the cake table.
