i dont think its too kiddish but i just am not a fan..
i like ballons just not for a wedding. i think its more for informal parties like showers. but thats my opinion. i have seen them done at weddings and they look great
i think they are too informal...just not fancy enough.

i saw some really nice balloon displays for weddings but i def would not put out like a few tied toether on the table

I think balloons can be nice although they may take away from the other decor such as flowers.

what are you thinking about balloons for you already have nice decor?
now that im seeing some pictures of what people can do its growing on me abit I just saw a giant heart ballon. and I remember the epsiode of rich bride poor bride when they had a ballon release on the dance floor that was nice.
