Ballpark Day Care Costs

Knowing we all live different places, etc, not taking that into consideration, what is the averge cost for an infant?

I live in the Raleigh area of NC, and the average cost here is $1000-$1200 per month. Luckily I found a great place right by my job for $660.00 per month. We lucked out.

$660 per month for full-time care I am paying $520 for 2 days a week.

Average is $1000-$1200 per month for full-time care in a daycare center. Not sure about Nanny prices.

Don't forget you get a $5000 tax credit (or deduction, not sure which) for child care if you work full-time. But if you use an off- the- books nanny or home care sitter you cannot claim it.

That is a nice little perk I had no idea about.

All you need is their tax ID #

My center charges $225 a week for infants and toddlers and $200 a week for 3 years and older.

You are out in Suffolk, right? My SIL/BIL are looking for a daycare near Westbury and every place seems to have a very long waiting list!

We are in Nassau, I live in Suffolk

My center is in Plainview, probably not convenient from Westbury.

Has she tried using the Child Care Council of Nassau? They have a great refferal service

OK, I know where it is now (Plainview.) It's not that bad, but it isn't me that has to drive!

We also have centers in Wantagh and Levittown.

I am paying $520 for 2 days a week.

My SIL pays $250.00 for 4 days a week here in NY

I have another SIL in Atlanta and she pays $125 per week (5 days) so it definitely varies by area.
