I would say get those bamboo mats and buy bamboo polls. Staple the mats to the ceiling then attach the polls to the ends

there were some bamboo sheets (like to make temp fencing) at IKEA over the summer...you may want to check that out

Wasn't that a Doug room on Trading Spaces? I think they did exactly what Lisa Rose suggested. Put mats up on the ceiling and they add the poles. It looks like a fun room!

yeah I think i saw it on hgtv once just not sure how to get those poles to stay up there I would think a staple gun would crack the bamboo?? hmmmm

I would think you could drill holes through the bamboo, and attach it to the studs in the ceiling. They shouldn't be too heavy, so you won't need big holes/screws.
